Canadian city will allow payments in bitcoin

The town of Innisfill will accept tax payment through the cryptocurrency thanks to the service offered by Coinberry

The town of Innisfil, located at 45 minutes to the norther area of Toronto, will allow the payment of taxes of its residents through cryptocurrencies.

This measure will be effective as of April 2019. The CEO and founder of Coinberry, Andrei Poliakov, indicated that his platform had been talking with the government for months to carry out this project.

Therefore, the company will be dedicated to processing the payments of residents who wish to bet on cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin for the payment of taxes.

To process the payment, taxpayers must access this solution through a government website. Once the payment is processed, the exchange office will convert the cryptocurrencies to Canadian dollars and transfer them to the municipal government.

For the time being, citizens will only be able to use bitcoins. However Poliakov announced that other cryptocurrencies such as ethereum, litcoin, ripple, among others, will be added soon.
