Brazilian bank will test its own stablecoin in 2019

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) will test its BNDESToken at the beginning of next year

The BNDESToken will act as a stablecoin anchored to the Brazilian real, so it will be the first opportunity in which a bank of the South American country deals with its own currency anchored to a fiduciary currency.

It should be noted that the token was created this year on the ethereum network and is designed to maintain parity of 1 to 1 with the national currency. The financial institution will receive the advice of the recognized firm ConsenSys.

The bank will issue tokens to carry out pilot transfers to the Brazilian National Film Agency (ANCINE), a government entity that operates under the jurisdiction of the Brazilian Ministry of Culture.

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) intends to use the identification certificates of the National Registry of Taxpayers (CNPJ) so that the filmographic companies that receive financing from the state can spend it in turn with other companies in the audiovisual sector.

It is important to remember that in September the banking institution conducted a census to identify potential solutions to the management of accounts, tracking transactions and linking accounts to the CNPJ or CPF for individuals.
