Apple announces the closure of iTunes

The announcement, which will be given by the CEO of the company Tim Cook, is scheduled for this Monday during the start of the World Developers Conference

Everything indicates that Apple will stop developing updates for iTunes, after 18 years of service as stated by several technology portals.

The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, would have plans to “kill” the tool for managing music, applications and other things. The plan is to divide all the functions of iTunes in different apps.

At the moment, the iTunes links no longer have the .itunes domain and now they are grouped into different ones, such as podcasts.apple.com, music.apple.com, apps.apple.com, books.apple.com, movies. apple.com and tv.apple.com. In addition, the Facebook and Instagram pages of the service have been deleted in what seems an announced death.

The announcement of goodbye would be given during the Worldwide Developers Conference, which starts this Monday and will last five days where thousands of programmers will meet at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose (California, USA).

The media Bloomberg indicated that the company led by Cook will launch three new applications for Mac to replace iTunes. The aforementioned media explains that Apple will have a tool for music, one for television and another for “podcasts“.
