40 % of Ericsson phones will join 5G technology in six years

More than 40 % of Ericsson mobile phone users will benefit from 5G technology in six years, as announced by the Swedish telecommunications group.

The information was announced this Monday by the delegate José Antonio López before the management team of Ericsson Spain, where it was explained that more than 30 % of mobile phone users are willing to cancel an additional 20 % to enjoy the benefits of the 5G technology.

The company assured that despite the economic impact suffered by the pandemic, Ericsson has managed to support 55 % of the mobile traffic of Spanish customers, facing a large volume in the use of the platform without affecting its service.

5G download speed

According to the company’s statistics, between the months of January and April the download speed of 5G has been much easier than the WiFi used in seven of the main technological countries: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Kuwait, Switzerland, Korea from the South and Spain.

In these months under the pandemic, Ericsson has managed to register an increase in the sale of its services of 7 % during the third quarter of 2020.
