Singapore Airlines will launch its own digital portfolio
The airline intends to support its KrisFlyer miles service through blockchain technology
This Friday Singapore Airlines announced the launch of its own digital portfolio based on blockchain technology.
The idea was born in order to support its consumer loyalty program, mostly known as KrisFlyer, said a company spokesman.
“We evaluated several options before deciding to use blockchain technology, the immutable and secure framework of distributed ledger technology makes it the best option to include the digital wallet proposal of our loyalty program,” the spokesperson explained.
KrisFlyer will also be the name of this portfolio, which will support the consumption of miles and also allow users to transform them into assets that are linked to the company.
Likewise, during the following months, Singapore Airlines executives will be adding more commercial options and functionalities to their application in iOS and Android operating systems.
