WhatsApp works on a new authentication system

The social network would use a facial recognition system for those smartphones that do not include the fingerprint lock

Security is one of the main aspects in which technology companies invest the most time and money. WhatsApp, the most used social messaging network currently, is inserted in the search for new options to protect its users, with the implementation of new authentication systems.

This Friday it was announced that WhatsApp is working on a “facial recognition system” that people could use to verify their entry into the system and the application.

The new way of biometric authentication would be an alternative for mobile phones that currently do not have a fingerprint lock interface. The social network is committed to new ways to protect user conversations and offer greater privacy, as indicated in WABetainfo.

The portal published: “Facial recognition will be supported if the device has a suitable sensor. Any other unique identifier will also be considered if fingerprint or facial recognition fails. Actually, there is no way to open WhatsApp if the fingerprint sensor cannot identify it, but in this case there will be more ways available from the operating system.”

From WhatAspp they encourage users of the platform to know the locking system installed on their smartphone and take full advantage of this security tool while entering the system and the messaging application.
