Central Bank of India could ban cryptocurrencies again

Internal sources say that the RBI is preparing a petition for review to the Supreme Court regarding this issue

The Central Bank of India, according to several sources, is preparing a petition for review to the Supreme Court to restore the ban on cryptocurrency business.

Recently, the Court lifted the ban that the RBI applied in 2018 regarding restrictions on business with digital assets in Indian territory.

At the time this caused local companies to have to move their operations to areas of Europe, and even to Singapore.

Given this situation, a lawyer named Mohammed Danish, founder of Crypto Kannon, said through his blog that the RBI is entitled to challenge the decision, but doubts that the Supreme Court could apply the ban again.

“The Bank on three Thursdays heard the arguments, which were very qualitative. They based their projected decisions based on those discussions. The request for review by the RBI can be successful, only if the judges make a mistake involuntarily”, Danish assured.
