AmEx incorporates blockchain to its customer rewards system

With the technology developed by Hyperledger they look for the design of personalized offers to cardholders

American Express has added blockchain technology to its cardholder rewards system in partnership with Hyperledger. The joint action is aimed at increasing customer incentives through personalized offers.

Through the implementation of blockchains merchants will be able to carry out campaigns oriented to specific products. It is also expected a greater participation of the customers members of the AmEx rewards system.

The brand’s financial services corporation was optimistic to announce the application of the new technology in its Membership Rewards program in partnership with the online merchant Boxed.

It is not AmEx’s first foray into blockchain business, since last year American Express Travel Related Services Co. presented the patent for a personalized reward system. The actions of the brand are aimed at diversifying its products and offering greater comfort, security and incentives to its client portfolio.

In its diverse applications, the blockchain offers transparency in transactions, which is highly appreciated by the customers of the global banking.
