Ernst & Young focuses on blockchain technology for its services

The well-known accounting firm studies the benefits of this technology as an expansion of its services and competences

The well-known international firm Ernst & Young is studying the incorporation of blockchain technology in its services with the aim of expanding its competences, as well as optimizing its services.

Its connection with blockchain solutions is not new. In fact, E & Y established in 2017 business alliances with the giant Microsoft and the largest shipping company Maersk, to launch the first blockchain marine insurance chain based on blockchain.

On the other hand, in 2016 it had already installed an ATM for bitcoins in its headquarters as a facility for its employees, becoming the first Swiss firm to accept the cryptocurrency.

Its most recent acquisition is cryptographic technology assets developed by Elevated Consciousness, San Francisco, California. The negotiation includes the Crypto-Asset Accounting and Tax (CAAT) technology, which allows the creation of multiple digital wallets as well as the exchange of digital assets.

Executives of the company expect CAAT to allow them to position themselves as the leading firm in the accounting area, as well as a better assessment of risks associated with the declaration of taxable income for cryptocurrencies.
