Peru inaugurates crypto minimarket

Crypto Market is an establishment where customers can buy and pay with cryptocurrencies edible items such as food, beverages and sweets in addition to other goods

The world is currently experiencing the cryptocurrency boom. The economy and finance is facing an increasing adoption of payment systems with bitcoin, dash, litecoin, ethereum, ripple and other cryptographic currencies.

Peru is inserted in this trend with the recent opening of the Crypto Market retail trade, where customers can pay for their purchases in Peruvian soles (local coin) and cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, ripple and ethereum.

The minimarket is the result of a venture similar to the local Oxxo franchise. In Crypto Market it is possible to buy and pay in digital currency various products such as groceries and candies, prepared foods, beers, wines, ice cream, hot drinks and coffee, among others.

The management of the premises in the Peruvian capital is the responsibility of businessman Andy Cotrina, who is committed to the evolution of the local ecosystem. Cotrina has several years of experience in digital currency trading.

Crypto Market is now part of the 36 companies that accept cryptocurrency payments in Lima, and the number is expected to continue increasing “as people try first-hand the advantages of using digital currencies.”
