Colombia opens consular attention at the borders with Venezuela

As of April 29 Colombia will establish consular advise centers at the borders with Venezuela for different procedures

This Friday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia announced that they will activate different points of Consular Assistance in the borders that connect the country with Venezuela.

This was indicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who gave details of the location of this offices.

The most remarkable center is that on the Simón Bolívar International Bridge. “At the Border Consular Service Points, Colombians will be able to receive advise, information and assistance corresponding to a consulate, like the Return Law, the Victims Law, assistance to nationals”, indicates part of the entity’s statement.

Those who wish to carry out any procedure will have access to the different points from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The points of attention were distributed as follows:

1. Norte de Santander: Simón Bolívar International Bridge.
2. Arauca: Immigration Services Facilitation Center, steet 18 # 21 – 03, La Esperanza neighborhood.
3. La Guajira-Maicao: street 16 # 3-28, Los Olivos neighborhood.
4. La Guajira-Paraguachón: border point.

The completion of procedures will be available from next April 29, and those interested should submit the following documents:

• Passports.
• Copies of inscriptions in the Civil Registry drawn up in any of the consulates of Colombia in Venezuela after the implementation of the SITAC in 2013.
• Recognition of signature in private document.
• Life Faith Certificate (survival).
• Recognition of signature in authorization of exit for minor, recovery of nationality.
• Identity documents (first time, duplicate, rectification and renewal) that were requested at Venezuelan consulates before closing, according to the following distribution:

1. Consulate of Colombia in Barinas
2. Consulate of Colombia in El Amparo
3. Consulate of Colombia in Puerto Ayacucho
4. Consulate of Colombia in Puerto Ordaz
5. Consulate of Colombia in San Fernando de Atabapo

Consular service point in Maicao

1. Consulate of Colombia in Barquisimeto
2. Consulate of Colombia in Machiques
3. Consulate of Colombia in Maracaibo
4. Consulate of Colombia in San Carlos de Zulia

Consular service point in Simón Bolívar

1. Consulate of Colombia in Caracas
2. Consulate of Colombia in Mérida
3. Consulate of Colombia in Puerto La Cruz
4. Consulate of Colombia in San Antonio del Táchira
5. Consulate of Colombia in San Cristóbal
