Venezuela closes airspace to Argentina aircraft

The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil, announced this Tuesday on his social network account on X, the closure of the airspace to Argentina due to the case of the seizure of the Conviasa cargo plane in Buenos Aires since June 2022 and which was delivered to the United States. United last February 12.
The country “completed the seizure of the Boeing 747 cargo belonging to Emtrasur, a subsidiary of the Venezuelan state airline Conviasa, sanctioned by the United States.”
The official’s post indicates: “Venezuela exercises full sovereignty in its airspace, and reiterates that no aircraft, coming from or heading to Argentina, will be able to fly over our territory, until our company is duly compensated for the damages caused.”
Gil emphasizes the position of the Venezuelan government regarding the action of the government of Javier Milei, who responded to the announcement with the initiation of diplomatic actions against Venezuela, according to statements by the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni.
