USA will study the use of cryptocurrencies

The proposed law, presented by the parliamentarian Juan Vargas of California, will now move to another stage of discussion and voting to then reach Donald Trump

The House of Representatives of the United States recently approved the study of the use of cryptocurrencies in terms of issues related to sex trafficking or the purchase of drugs.

This project was led by Juan Vargas, representative of District 51 of the State of California, who proposed helping Congress “understand the extension of how cryptocurrencies are used to facilitate the purchase of drugs and sex trafficking”.

Vargas has the objective of creating laws that are capable of curbing this type of crime. The next thing that happened for this law will be going to the Senate Chamber, where it will go through a new discussion and voting process and then get to the office of President Donald Trump.

For more than a century, United States has been struggling with the illegal sale of drugs. In the case of sex trafficking, this would be the second attempt through a proposal to stop it.

In February, the FOSTA-SESTA law was proposed, which prohibits the publication of sex workers in forums and websites such as Craiglist and Backpage.
