Twitter scam took just 13 bitcoin

Some of the accounts used by cyber criminals in the mass attack were those of Joe Biden, Changpeng Zhao and Elon Musk

After a day of intense attacks on the Twitter network, scammers willing to violate the privacy of network users managed to get only 13 bitcoin as a reward, as mentioned by Emi Melker in the Tweet of the day.

The hacking of accounts suffered by the social network has been one of the worst cybersecurity breaches to date, leading to dozens of accounts of great personalities from business and politics being hacked, as those of Joe Biden, Changpeng Zhao and Elon Musk.

Due to the massive scam, the robbery turned out to be quite disappointing in terms of monetary figures obtained by the attackers. Hackers immediately turned on the alarms of the crypto community who did not react to the hackers’ proposal to duplicate all bitcoins sent to a specific address.

According to the information provided on the Vice portal, in recent hours some Twitter users have been posting images of what appears to be the control panel used by the social network, which shows that the attack was actually carried out on the infrastructure from Twitter.

What has generated the doubt in the investigators is to recognize those involved in the act, a question that obviously rules out any institution with few resources, since to carry out said crime, large sums of money are required. It should be mentioned that the network, although it does not compare with Google and Facebook, has turned out to be one of the most important companies in the world, which dedicates immense resources to guarantee cybersecurity.
