The FED assures that the conditions for digital currencies should be prepared
The president of this body spoke about the issuance of assets of this style by central banks, mentioning several points regarding their implementation
The president of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, assured that beyond having actions that support the use of digital currencies, it is necessary to first establish “appropriate conditions” for this.
“We think it is more important to get it right than to do it first and this implies that we not only analyze the potential benefits of the digital currency but its risks, and that we recognize that international market operations must be carefully planned”, said Powell.
The head of the FED indicated that an evaluation carried out by the local central bank is needed first to be able to evaluate the impact of global operations within this environment.
It should be remembered that the US economy is in recovery after the consequences generated by the pandemic, so it could still be necessary for another year to pass to be able to assess the exact magnitude of the crisis and thus take other steps for full recovery of the global market.
