Sony recently announced the launch in Spain of its new virtual reality headset for PlayStation VR2, scheduled for February 22, 2023.
The technology company reported on Wednesday that the new device for entertainment gives way to the second generation of virtual reality headsets. Likewise, spokespersons for the brand indicated that from this November 15 those interested will be able to make their reservations in the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
The PS VR2 will cost approximately 599.99 euros and the charging station, which is marketed independently, will cost 49.99 euros, with availability in all authorized stores from the same day.
Sony’s new VR headsets will deliver a more intense experience for users by incorporating “headset feedback, eye tracking and 3D audio, as well as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback from PS VR2 Sense controllers.”
The new PS VR2 works with an OLED panel with a resolution of 2,000 x 2,040 per eye and refresh rates of 90 and 120Hz. This results in 4K HDR images with a 110-degree field of view.
Additionally, the new Sony VR headset includes four cameras on the front display to track your movements.
Isabelle Tomatis, vice president of brand, hardware and peripherals at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said in an interview with The Verge: “We created a PSVR2 headset with comfort in mind, in a thinner and lighter design compared to the previous one.”
