Singapore becomes the greenest Asian city
The Khatib neighborhood, north of Singapore, witnessed a day of waste collection that gathered together at least 200 volunteers
On the day of waste collection held in Khatib, north of Singapore, only a few cigar butts hidden among the trees and a disposable handkerchief were obtained. The volunteers did not have much work to do since all the spaces were already practically neat.
Obviously, they did not need to carry heavy bags full of garbage, which in fact is very common in Singapore, because the country takes the issue of cleanliness very seriously.
Singapore is a very clean place, but the reasons for its neatness are not only aesthetic. Warm and humid tropic climates such as the one in Singapore, unlike others with a cooler environment, demand that cleaning be quick and efficient.
For the Asian country to have a clean city is not only a matter of beauty, but it also contributes greatly to strengthening of the economy.
In the greenest country of Asia all blameworthy behavior of citizens and foreigners is forbidden, so the one that does not comply with the laws is strictly punished with economic sanctions, that is, fines.
The objective of the fines, in principle, was to shape the behavior of citizens until they learned the culture of not dirtying their city and they ended up being accepted by society.
