Samsung tests to introduce ChatGPT in the browser of the Galaxy series

The technology company Samsung wants to bring the functions and capabilities of artificial intelligence closer to the user and for this it is testing to include the OpenAI chatbot, ChatGPT, in its series of Galaxy smartphones

Samsung is testing ways to embed OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT in the browser of its own Galaxy smartphones to bring AI features and capabilities closer to users using their smartphones terminals.

The South Korean technology manufacturer proposed in April to replace Google, the default search engine for its devices, with Microsoft Bing, with the aim of achieving a more personalized user experience thanks to the incorporation of AI in some functions.

This approach caused some discomfort for Google, which considered this movement as “a serious threat” to the search engine business. However, a month later, Samsung reconsidered this option and decided to keep Google as the default search engine on its devices. This was due, in part, to concerns by the company about how the change would be perceived by users, and how it would affect its relationship with Google.

Despite this determination, Samsung continues to look for ways to introduce AI into its browser in order to make these functions easier for users. To do this, it has been testing options to add the OpenAI chatbot, ChatGPT, in the browser of its ‘smartphones’.

This has been verified by Android Authority after analyzing the APK code of the Samsung Internet Browser application, where details have been found that refer to ChatGPT with indicators such as ‘Enable ChatGPT’ or ‘Test ChatGPT’, which suggest that the technology plans to enter ChatGPT inside the browser.

In fact, as has been observed in the lines of code, the integration of the ‘chatbot’ in its terminals could be due to an experimental function of Labs and would provide users with the possibility of making ChatGPT queries directly from the browser.

In other words, the ChatGPT functions could be accessed without having to navigate to the website or download the ‘chatbot’ application. However, at the moment it is a test.
