Pope Francis tests religious and educational video game

The game was launched on the occasion of World Youth Day 2019 in Panama and according to criticism is very similar to Pokemon Go

Organizers of the World Youth Day 2019, to be held in Panama, reported that Pope Francis successfully tested a religious and educational video game called “Follow JC and Go”. According to some critics it is a copy of the well-known Pokemon Go.

The information about the launch was released on Wednesday, with details about the video game. It is a free virtual reality app that includes GPS and developed for iOS and Android devices.

The creators of the game are Ricardo Grzona, executive president of the Ramón Pané Foundation, and Hugo Flores, director of digital strategy. Both had met with the Supreme Pontiff to present the initiative as one of the technological attractions of WYD Panama 2019, which will be from January 22nd to 27th.

The game, presented as “JC Go” consists of a search of the characters of the Bible, the saints and blesseds, in addition to the Marian devotions. There is also the option to invite real people to join the evangelization team.

The followers of the Christian faith interested in downloading the app can consult the site www.cristonautas.com to obtain all the information. There they will find news to find friends, locate the church closest to their community, earn points with trivia, among others.
