Map Kit will be the competition of Google Maps

The Chinese technology company Huawei announced that it will release its new software dedicated to geolocation and GPS navigation called Map Kit

According to the China Daily, in its first stage the service will not be open to the public but will be available to developers as a powerful working tool. The program is designed to compete with Google Maps, wich belongs to the American company Google.

The application will be available in 40 languages and will have a service to monitor traffic in real time, at the same time, will have a very accurate navigation system that can identify even when the car changes lanes.

Similarly, it was announced that several maps will be supported with augmented reality maps. The application is scheduled to be released in October of this year.

Huawei’s future plan is to serve those areas where they have a stronger presence than Google, such as Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and some places in Latin America.

The app will be available in the newly released Harmony operating system, with which it seeks to compete strongly in the market.
