Instagram will ban advertising on vaping, tobacco and weapons

The social network will begin to apply restrictions against the influencers of this platform as part of new security measures

The social network Instagram updated its policies that affect the creators of content or influencers, who indicated that it will prohibit the promotion of brands of vaping products, tobacco or firearms.

The social network, owned by Facebook, shared this Wednesday in a statement from its website a series of news related to content sponsored by brands published by content creators. Among the novelties, the admitted products have been limited.

“The content of brands that promote goods such as ‘vaping’, tobacco and weapons will not be allowed. Our advertising policies have long banned the advertising of these products, and we will begin to apply them in the coming weeks,” said the property network from Mark Zuckerberg.

The company also stressed that these measures will be implemented next year. They also added that content promotions related to alcohol and dietary supplements will have special restrictions.

In the same publication Instagram reported that it will also open access to the Brand Collaboration Manager that belongs to Facebook for creators in order to provide new ways to find brands to work with.
