IDB recognizes Guaidó’s delegate as Venezuela’s representative

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) admitted Venezuelan economist Ricardo Hausmann as Venezuela's representative to the organization

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) reported in a statement that: “Today, the governors of the Inter-American Development Bank approved a resolution recognizing Juan Guaidó’s appointment of Ricardo Hausmann as governor of the IDB.”

The institution held a separate vote in which the governors of the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), which is the IDB’s right-hand man for private sector lending, also approved Hausmann’s appointment.

Electronic voting on the IDB governors’ resolution will remain open throughout the day. However, a sufficient number of representatives have already been voted on to meet the quorum requirements and to have a favorable and final vote.

With this decision, the financial institution becomes the first global institution to recognize Juan Guaidó.
