Hotels join the petro cryptocurrency ecosystem
The superintendent of Sunacrip, Joselit Ramírez informed that Venezuela's hotel and lodging network will be able to accept payments with the Venezuelan cryptocurrency
The Superintendency of Cryptoactive and Related Activities (Sunacrip), Joselit Ramírez, informed that Venezuela’s hotel and lodging network will be able to accept payments with the petro cryptocurrency.
“As of this week we have a large number of hotel establishments in Venezuela available, where they can accept and market with petro, such as the startup of the tourism microecosystem”, Ramírez said.
The first to accept this payment metrhod, according to the Superintendent, will be the Hotel Hesperia de Valencia, the Paraguaná Mall in Falcón and Doña Carmen Inn, in Los Roques.
At present, there are more than 900 commercial establishments in Venezuela, such as the CLAP and Traki stores, which accept petro as a payment method in addition to other cryptocurrencies.
“The use of this digital currency in shops and chain stores in Venezuela becomes more common in the country, and large hotels located in tourist areas have been incorporated, which will have a positive impact on the strengthening of the Tourism Engine”, he said.
On the other hand, Sunacrip’d head pointed out that the first crypto state corridor in the Carabobo State is already in operation, in which the supermarket chains, technology stores, among others, are located.
