Civic launches vending machines to pay with cryptocurrencies

Through a combination of devices for age verification and payments through the CVC token, the US company offers customers the local beers Shiner Bock and Austin Amber

Local beer lovers in the United States, specifically Shiner Bock and Austin Amber, could buy them in vending machines of the Civic company and cancel  with their own cryptocurrency, the CVC token.

It is a tempting offer only for adults. The machines, which will cost US $ 15,000, are equipped with technology to verify the age of the customer, thus complying with the laws of the country and the Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Civic is a startup specialized in decentralized identity that presented its novelties in a recent event, including three vending machines that sell the Shiner Bock and Austin Amber beers. The commercial launch of the machines is planned for later this year.

The advertising promotion of the Civic BD10 machines indicates: “Each machine comes with the following peripherals, which are included in the rental / purchase price: graphics wrap, touch screen, software application, tests”.

Titus Capilnean, marketing director of Civic, has said that “the machines could sell about 150 beers per day for a total of 100,000 CVC approximately USD $ 7,600.” It is important to note that the company tokens, the CVCs, have a value of USD $ 0.7 per unit and the cryptocurrency is currently ranked 140th in CoinMarketCap.

For the purchase of liquor, iPhone users must download the application, verify their identity by touching the screen. After selecting the desired drink, a QR code is displayed to scan with the app and make the payment. Civic considers that the ideal scenarios to place these vending machines for beer safely and in accordance with the law are the stadiums and other sites of sporting events or for entertainment.
