G20 group will inject 5 billion dollars into the world economy

This conglomerate of countries, which received the support of the WHO, assured that it will seek to boost the global economy with this measure

This Friday, the Group of 20 (G20) announced that it will inject 5 trillion dollars into the world economy in order to promote and confront the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

The leaders of this sector promised in a joint statement that their commitment to get ahead of this situation will begin to be seen until this announced measure.

On the other hand, they ensured that they provided full support to the World Health Organization to coordinate global efforts against the COVID-19 epidemic.

“We support and pledge to further strengthen WHO’s mandate to coordinate the international fight against the pandemic”, they said.

The statement was made in the most conciliatory language the G20 has shown in years. The leaders pledged to ensure the flow of vital medical supplies and other goods across the borders. They will also seek to resolve disruptions in the supply chain.

G20 leaders also expressed concern about the risks to fragile countries, especially in Africa, and populations like refugees, recognizing the need to strengthen global financial safety nets and national health systems.
