Fidelity will launch crypto exchange service

The firm will buy and sell bitcoins for institutional clients in the coming weeks according to information provided by sources close to the company

Fidelity Investments is one of the largest asset managers in the world based in Boston.

The prestigious company launched Fidelity Digital Assets last October 2018, as Wall Street began to generate interest in the exchange and storage of cryptocurrencies.

This innovation placed Fidelity at the forefront of its closest competitors who until now are only sitting on the bench, with the exception of E-Trade and Robinhood. It is worth noting that the firm will focus only on institutional clients and not on common investors.

In the same way, Fidelity spokeswoman Arlene Roberts said in an email: “At the moment we have a select group of clients that we support with our platform.”

Similarly, Roberts said: “We will continue to launch our services during the coming weeks and months based on the needs of our clients, jurisdictions and other factors. In these moments, the offer of our service focuses on bitcoin”.
