Facebook Messenger available to help health systems

The social network proposed using the messaging network to inform the population of everything related to the coronavirus

Facebook has teamed up with government health organizations around the world to provide citizens with information and resources about the coronavirus through its Messenger application.

The tech company, along with its developer community, will offer free services to government healthcare organizations. With this initiative, people will be able to access the latest trusted information.

Specifically, and as the social network explains in a statement, Messenger will become a channel with which to share more accurate and timely information, and accelerate responses to citizens concerns.”

In this way, the developer community will help automate the answers to the most common questions, and transition to a conversation with a person through a chat when necessary.

Argentina and Pakistan have already started using Messenger as an information channel for citizens.
