Coinbase to accept transactions in GBP for UK customers
The main US cryptocurrency exchange platform approved UK sterling deposits and withdrawals for UK users
Coinbase, the main US cryptoexchange, has just announced the move to accept daily withdrawals and deposits in sterling pounds from United Kingdom citizens.
The measure will allow transactions to be effective immediately. In addition, customers will not have to pay the current commissions for an amount of 10 euros per operation.
Users of the platform will have full freedom to deposit and withdraw sterling pounds and use them to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. The conversion between both types of currencies will no longer be necessary.
According to information from the platform, some users already have virtual wallets in GBP. It was also known that in its initial stage, the platform works with the GBP / BTC, GBP / ETH exchanges.
Zeeshan Feroz, Coinbase’s executive director in the United Kingdom, was pleased with the measure, which will benefit individual, corporate and institutional clients.
