Google could return to China with some restrictions

The American search engine came out of the Chinese scenario in 2010 but studies to return through a project of censorship and preventive restrictions called Dragonfly

Google is working on its return to China through a project called Dragonfly. It is a censorship plan adjusted to local restrictions for access to online content.

Although the Chinese authorities have not shown much enthusiasm about a return of the US giant of the networks, they are currently studying the feasibility of the project, which could see the light between the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019.

China has established the most severe firewalls to the search engine to prevent the population from having access to political issues considered very sensitive.

Google’s initiative represents a strategic change in its policies to win again the market in China, with a growing population and in search of updated information.

Currently the Asian country promotes among its inhabitants the search engine Baidu. However, Google wants to participate in the great Asian bonanza, submitting its Dragonfly project to the measures established by the local government. The searches would be governed by these controls without causing discomfort to the authorities.
