Blockchain technology could improve the quality of public schools in India
Indian IT Minister commissioned the National Computing Center (NIC) to develop solutions for the benefit of primary education
The Indian Minister of telecommunications and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad, has requested to develop solutions to improve the quality of public schools. To achieve it the head of the technology portfolio commissioned the National Computing Center (NIC). The announcement was made during the inauguration of a Blockchain Technology Center of Excellence.
According to a report published on January 20 in the Press Trust of India, Prasad says that the NIC and local state authorities should open their doors to new businesses that work under defined standards.
“I am very interested in how we can take advantage of blockchain in primary education. In fact, today I am going to give you a task, NIC team. Can you think of a good application of blockchain technology to improve the quality of public schools throughout the country?,” the minister told the news agency.
It is presumed that this initiative can highlight the work of startups and their key role in the Indian technology sector. There are currently 26 thousand new companies, of which 9 thousand comprise this important sector.
According to this, Prasad urged to develop mechanisms to include these new companies stating that “NIC can become a great sponsor of the new business movement.“
