The US president, along with some 40 leaders, will host a virtual meeting to discuss issues related to climate change and caring for the environment

This April 22 is World Earth Day, a day where at least 40 leaders of the planet will hold a virtual meeting to discuss various issues related to climate change.

The general purpose of this meeting is to be able to promote the efforts of the main economies of the planet, in order to maintain the objectives set out in the Paris Agreement.

The main protagonist of the day will be the president of the United States, Joe Biden, who was in charge of convening this meeting that will end on April 23.

Before this day, the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres stressed that “Mother Earth is clearly urging a call to action. Let us remember more than ever on this International Mother Earth Day that we need a change towards a more sustainable economy that works for both people and the planet.”

Recognized as the largest annual civic event on the planet, Earth Day has led to a whole series of environmental actions and campaigns, such as the passage of historic environmental laws and reforestation projects.
