Argentina is the country with the highest inflation in the world

The nation leads the world inflation ranking, with more than 200 %, leaving behind Lebanon and Venezuela

Argentina leads the world inflation ranking, with more than 200 %, behind Lebanon and Venezuela, which occupy second and third place, respectively.

This was revealed by Bloomberg Línea, which indicated that inflation in Lebanon fell from 212 % to 192 % in December, while that of Venezuela was between 190 % and 193 %, according to official and alternative sources.

The rest of the world’s countries do not have inflation levels as high as Argentina, which is experiencing an unprecedented economic and social crisis.

In Latin America, only Argentina and Venezuela exceed 10 % inflation. Colombia is close to that threshold, with 9.28 % at the end of December.

Brazil and Mexico, the largest economies in the region, also face inflationary pressures, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the supply of and demand for goods and services. Inflation was 4.62 % and 4.66 %, respectively, in 2023.
