Apple to announce a new 24” iMac at the end of the month

Apple has an upcoming surprise related to the launching of a new updated 24-inch iMac model at the end of October, which will integrate a different processor than the one currently used in these devices

The company led by Tim Cook launched the latest iMac model, with a 24-inch screen and M1 platform, as well as a more compact body and a wide range of colors, in April 2021. Since then, no new ones have been presented. versions of said model.

Now, according to statements from sources close to the company, to which Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman has had access, Apple plans to announce a new version of the 24-inch iMac at the end of October, with a new processor.

As developed in its latest ‘Power On’ newsletter, after the launch of the iMac with a 24-inch M1 processor, the company had planned to launch a new device based on an M2 chip, in addition to an updated version of the 24-inch iMac. inches. However, development of a new iMac Pro was postponed “due to cost concerns.”

On the other hand, as was known in March of this year, the company began working on the development of a new 24-inch iMac model. At that time, the analyst detailed that the new model would implement an M3 platform, that is, a chip manufactured with a 3 nanometer (nm) process, which would arrive at the end of this year.

In this framework, according to these people close to the company, Apple will take advantage of the presentation of a new product focused on Mac to announce the new iMac model, without specifying for the moment the platform with which it will work, in an event that will take place at the end of this month.

Following this line, the analyst has also pointed out that Apple stores have a shortage of iMac devices, as well as 13-inch MacBook Pro and high-end MacBook Pro computers. This may indicate that the company is waiting to announce the new iMac, as well as new MacBook models, since the company’s websites indicate that new stock will not arrive until mid-November, as Gurman has been able to verify.

In addition, another piece of information that signals the proximity of a company announcement, according to the analyst, is that Apple has moved the company’s financial results call to November, instead of presenting earnings in October, as is usually the case.
