Alibaba will use blockchain to protect intellectual property

China's e-commerce giant said that the final application within this area would be scheduled for the month of September

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba announced that it will bet on the use of blockchain technology, integrating it within its system of intellectual property of the company and its global brands.

This is how Alibaba Group Platform Management ensures that it will use this technology as an alternative to improve its intellectual property protection system.

In this way it expect to provide better services to companies and global brands in this aspect, with special attention to small and medium enterprises. The current intellectual protection system reaches more than 30 million new products and at least 1.5 billion of products every day.

The director of intellectual property protection of the company, Ali Xizhi, stressed that the company is in the process of applying blockchain technology in this sector.

On the other hand, he stressed that the definitive integration is expected for the month of September, after the application also of digital copyright protection as images and videos. Alibaba has innovated with regard to technological models for the protection of intellectual property, sector in which it is recognized worldwide.

In fact, in 2019, Alibaba was awarded the “Prize for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Technological Innovation” by the Global Luxury Law Alliance.
