Company Intuit will operate with bitcoins via SMS

After four years, the company of Californian origin finally received the authorization to perform transactions of the cryptocurrency through text messaging

This Monday it was confirmed that the company of Californian origin Intuit received the necessary authorization to carry on transactions of bitcoin through the text messaging.

Although there are already other companies that offer this same service, the US company had submitted the application for the patent in June 2014.

Presented by Manu Chikkanna and entitled “Bitcoin transactions using text messages“, the application offers a method to allow anyone with a mobile device to send and receive payments globally, without having to access the Internet.

This method operates as follows: the user must send a text indicating the payment and an identifier of the mobile device of the beneficiary, which will be responsible for validating the payment message based on a virtual balance of the payer.

Today there are several services and tools that are associated with cryptocurrencies and that offer this type of facilities. One of the best known is the Samourai Wallet portfolio, which offers the PonyDirect tool for transactions via text messages.
