Fedecamaras requested reconsideration of the IGTF

The person in charge of the organization, Carlos Fernández, assured that it is possible to incorporate certain aspects into the IGTF that would help the Venezuelan economy

The president of Fedecamaras, Carlos Fernández, indicated that there is the possibility of incorporating some reconsiderations to the Tax on Large Financial Transactions (IGTF) with the aim of keeping the country’s economic growth on track.

“Correct who is a special taxpayer. You are placing an almost impossible obligation on a good part of the country’s commercial network that is not in a position to adequately carry this product”, Fernández recommended.

At the same time, he considered it necessary to remove natural persons from this law because “the bulk of Venezuelans can barely complete the minimum, and this can have consequences.”

“Exempt products. Perhaps some products will be left out of this tax to have less impact on their final price”, he added.

In this way, Fernández pointed out that these types of laws are almost impossible to comply with because they do not take into account the reality of the Venezuelan system.
