The UK will present its plans with cryptocurrencies soon

The British government intends to give a first preview of what its regulatory framework for digital assets would be

Everything indicates that in the coming weeks, the United Kingdom through the Treasury will present its plans related to the regulation of cryptocurrencies, specifically in the control of stablecoins.

The British government is applying measures against companies related to economic activities linked to cryptocurrencies.

Currently, these proposals are still in the development phase, however the National Crime Agency (NCA) requested that the future regulation include measures to detect cybercriminals who may use cryptocurrencies for the purpose of money laundering.

The warnings are in line with concerns by authorities around the world regarding decentralized finance and the use of cryptocurrencies to cover up fraudulent deals and illicit activities.

The United Kingdom still does not have a regulatory framework like the one that the European Union is already defining with the MiCA, although in the past it has made decisions such as prohibiting the purchase of certain financial instruments such as cryptocurrency derivatives and Exchange-trade notes (ETNs) to retail investors.
