CAF opens call for Financial Inclusion Laboratory 2020

The Development Bank of Latin America, CAF, will select the 11 best fintech in Latin America and the Caribbean. Applications will be received until November 8

In order to support the development and implementation of new fintech proposals in Latin America and the Caribbean, CAF recently opened the call for the “2020 Financial Inclusion Laboratory”.

The Development Bank of Latin America has indicated through various newsletters that from October 5 to November 8 applications will be received from startups that wish to participate in the region. The 11 best fintech will be selected.

The winners of the LIF in its second edition will enter the Endeavor, Seedstars or Ventures Accelerator by Google for Startups acceleration program, starting in January 2021, which will last for 3 months.

Likewise, through the CAF portal, they have indicated that “all proposals will have the possibility of entering a financing round by the main private banks and investment funds in Latin America and the Caribbean, after showing interest on the part of the actors involved.”

Promotion of financial solutions

The winning proposals are expected to provide “technological solutions that help solve the needs of the public and private sectors derived from the crisis generated by Covid-19 in the following areas: financial inclusion of vulnerable groups and financial inclusion with an impact on the productivity of MSMEs companies. “

The second edition of this fintech ecosystem event brings together representatives from both the public and private sectors, as well as investors and entrepreneurs who seek to “promote business opportunities, favor the interaction of members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and provide concrete solutions to financial inclusion issues.”

CAF’s allies in this initiative are divided into four sectors:

  • Accelerators: Endeavor, Seedstars or Ventures Accelerator by Google for Startups
  • Investment funds: ALLVP Venture Partners, New Ventures, Adobe Capital, Dalus Capital, Angel Ventures, Bamboo Capital Partners (BCP).
  • Regional partners: UNDP Accelerator Lab, Felaban, Red Iberoamericana de Mujeres en Fintech
  • Allies by country: More than 40 national private banks and public organizations and national fintech associations that are detailed in the contest rules.

Startups that have not yet applied can do so until November 8, until 11:59 p.m. through http://lif-caf.charly.io/.
