China is ready to expand digital yuan in Beijing

The launch of the digital currency possibly marks a before and after the massive use of crypto in the world

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that it is ready to launch its digital yuan trial program in Beijing and several provinces in the country.

The progress in the development of the pilot plan continues rapidly, and according to the statistics obtained by its creators, the launch will mark a before and after in relation to the use of central bank digital currencies (CDBC) around the world.

Among the regions chosen for the launch are: Tianjin, Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta and Guangdong, as well as the neighboring provinces of Hong Kong and Macao.

Regarding expansion, the ministerial portfolio indicated that the program will start “where conditions allow,” ensuring that the poorest regions of China could join the plan as long as they meet the established requirements.

As efforts to advance the project are outlined, many companies have shown interest in being part of the expansion, including the main companies in the country such as: the Chinese transport platform DiDi and the delívery company, Meituan Dianping.
