Brazilian development bank sells shares for $ 5,189 million

The operation was initiated in January, when intermediary banks communicated the decision to offer shares in Patrobras

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) received on Wednesday 22,000 million reais, equivalent to 5,189 million dollars due to its participation in the capital of the state-owned oil company Petrobras.

According to market data, this negotiation was the largest sale of paper made since 2010 with titles also from the oil company.

The operation started in January, advanced once the intermediary banks in the sale announced to investors the decision of the BNDES to launch a secondary public offering of the common shares held by the largest company in Brazil.

In a first package of 611 million 835 thousand 586 common shares of Petrobras held by BNDES, it was offered both in Brazil and abroad and concluded on Wednesday, with a paper value of thirty reais, equivalent to about 7, 07 dollars.

An additional lot was also negotiated with up to 20% of the shares, for a total sale of 22,000 million reais.
