The first wedding is registered on the IBM blockchain platform

A couple of Brazilians registered their marriage thanks to the Growth Tech Notary Ledgers network which provides digital registration services

On November 11 a Brazilian couple established their marriage registry through the blockchain platform of the renowned American multinational company, IBM, as Cointelegraph reported.

According to the publication, local media spread the news that a couple had become the first of its kind to establish a de facto union through the Growth Tech Notary Ledgers network, which provides digital registration services using the IBM blockchain platform in the public cloud of the technology company.

Guilherme Mesquita, one of the participants of the union, said: “Everything was practical and fast. The biggest advantage is that the digital certificate is a mechanism that increases the reliability of the process and that it is also possible to verify its authenticity online.”

Births certificates

In October, the same technology platform was used to register the birth certificate of a baby in Rio de Janeiro. Dan Gisolfi, IBM’s Trusted Identity technology director, said: “As the creation of physical and digital identity cards, the issuance of a digital birth record within the blockchain is an important springboard to drive a demand for identity credentials broader and more adjusted to the needs.”

Given this, Hugo Pierre, CEO and founder of Growth Tech, said that this demonstrates to society that the services performed with blockchain technology “are highly safe, reliable and viable.”
