Surely, when visiting the Instagram account the user encounters notifications of friendships or of an account to follow for their publications, others for some commercial commitment and some accounts that at a given moment accepted for courtesy but the interest was lost with through time .

In this regard, Instagram wants to help identify these situations, and is testing new functionality. This is a new classification implemented in the digital platform to group followers according to the categories of “Low interaction with” and “More displayed in the feed” that will be determined according to the daily use of the app in the last 90 days and will allow make accounts in a row easier to manage.

According to a recent finding by the software engineer Jane Manchun Wong, a specialist in finding hidden features within applications, ensures that the goal of Instagram with this new functionality would be to allow its users to focus on the content they really want to see in their profiles, eliminating all those accounts that they rarely view in their news feed, saving the task of having to look for them one by one.

Although in a way we should know which accounts are the ones the users interact the least, this functionality can be very useful for people who follow accounts and wish to clean up without having to spend hours browsing their “follow” list. So far it is unknown if this test will officially reach all users.
