The smartphone with Xiaomi folding screen, Mi MIX Alpha, will be presented on September 24 to compete in the market with Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X devices.
At the beginning of the year, Xiaomi shared a video in which the president and co-founder of the company, Bin Lin, appeared using a foldable mobile, a functional prototype that could pass from a tablet format to another one of smartphone.
This change of format, as shown, was possible because the device had two bending points that divided the screen into three parts, with a larger central and two, smaller, lateral ones that folded back.
Xiaomi has confirmed on its Twitter profile the presentation of Mi MIX Alpha, in an event that will be held on September 24. The image that accompanies this announcement shows a device as if it were the back of a book, accompanied by the motto “Explore a future without limits”.
The spine camouflaged between books responds to the part of the folded screen of the device, a flexible, curved and functional screen that is presented as the largest of this type among what is on the market.
The presentation of Mi MIX Alpha will also offer news about the company’s MIUI 11 personalization layer and 5G connectivity.
