MasterCard earned 30.5% more during the second quarter of the year

The US supplier registered a total of 2,048 million dollars between the months of April and June 2019

The US payment service provider Mastercard posted a net profit of $ 2,048 million in the second quarter of 2019, which is equivalent to a 30.5% improvement over the same period last year.

Net income between April and June climbed 12.2%, totaling $ 4,113 million. Cross-border transactions rose 16%, while total volume managed reached 1.6 trillion dollars, up to 13%.

With regard to costs, general expenses increased 15.6%, to 1,369 million dollars, while the advertising and marketing item rose 9.8%, to 225 million dollars.

“We continue to execute our strategy well and we have had another strong quarter in terms of revenue and profit growth,” said Mastercard president and CEO Ajay Banga.

The accumulated net profit of the first six months of 2019 grew by 27.7%, to 3,910 million dollars, while the turnover stood at 8,002 million dollars, 10.4% more.
