Pope Francisco seeks to devise a socio-economic change

The Supreme Pontiff stressed that young people should be the pioneers of change for a different society

On Monday, Pope Francisco sent a call for young entrepreneurs and students of Economics from around the world to participate next year in a meeting to devise changes in the current socioeconomic model.

This event is scheduled to be held between March 26th and 28th next year. According to the pontiff’s letter, all those summoned are called to be part of the “Economy of Francesco” event.

Francisco explained that the intention is to devise a “different economic model that makes people live and does not kill, includes and does not exclude, humanizes and does not dehumanize, takes care of Creation and does not deprecate”.

The Pope wants young people to be the protagonists of change and “builders of a better world“.

These new generations will have the testimony of “some of the best experts in economic sciences, as well as entrepreneurs and businesswomen who are already committed worldwide to an economy consistent with this ideal”.

“I invite you all to be protagonists of this pact, taking charge of an individual and collective commitment to cultivate together the dream of a new humanism that responds to the expectations of man and the design of God”, said the Argentine pontiff.
