López Obrador promises Internet all around Mexico

During a tour in the state of Nayarit, the president of the country said he wants to get the service to the remote areas through telecommunications companies

This weekend, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he will create an Internet service company that will provide the service to all the country.

During a tour of the state of Nayarit, the Mexican president expressed his dissatisfaction with Internet service companies for “not granting the connection to the remote towns”.

“As the companies do not find it profitable, they do not provide the service in the remote villages, in Nayarit there is nothing more than mobile telephony and Internet in Tepic and in the cities, and in the head offices of the municipalities”, said López Obrador.

On the other hand, he indicated that telecommunications companies are only looking for “nothing more than the business.”

On several occasions, López Obrador has insisted that one of the telecommunications projects of his administration is to communicate all of Mexico via the Internet, through an optical fiber of 50,000 kilometers that the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has.
