Internet platforms blocked in Venezuela

YouTube and Google searches would have been blocked in addition to social networks, causing inconvenience to Internet users and economic losses

According to a report in NetBlocks Group, searches on YouTube and Google were blocked in Venezuela, a country that faces complicated days.

In addition, social networks Twitter and Facebook have remained intermittent or simply not working for days in the Latin American country.

Internet users noticed how the information search pages became slow and almost impossible to use since the first hours of January 23.

According to the NetBlocks Group report, the cause of the connection restrictions is still unknown and the locks are unknown. However, “they are consistent with previous Internet restrictions in the country.”

It is presumed that the responsible for these interruptions would be the state telecommunications provider Compañía Anónima Nacional Teléfonos de Venezuela (Cantv), which would be pulling down these tools.
