This Wednesday, during a general transmission in the media, Nicolás Maduro made the announcement of the National Mining Plan 2019-2025, whose main objective is to position the mining engine, strengthen its strengths and potentialities as the axis of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda. For its execution it approved a budget of 7.7 billion euros.

In the transmission, he highlighted the transfer of attributions in the exploration and exploitation of strategic minerals to the Venezuelan Mining Corporation. In this regard, he indicated that the entity will be in charge of managing what concerns coal in the Gran Cubatera and Las Adjuntas, in the Táchira State.

Additionally, Maduro clarified that Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and Minister of Ecological Mining Development Victor Cano will be in charge of monetizing gold reserves, for an estimated amount of 94 billion euros.

“As for bauxite, Venezuela has 321 million 350 thousand tons in certified reserves, which gives us a figure of 14 billion certified euros. There is an important industry of primary transformation of bauxite in aluminum“, said the president of Venezuela about this mineral.

Venezuela is a country with large reserves of iron, nickel, bauxite, feldspar, phosphate and others in strategic sectors throughout the national territory. Only in gold, Maduro said that the international legal certification is 2 thousand 236 tons.

Regarding the investment necessary for the positioning of the mining sector plan, he said: “I tell the large number of international businessmen who are ready to invest in the mining development of the country: ¡Welcome!.”
