Vivo X50 Pro, the first mobile with gimbal stabilization

The Chinese smartphone brand Vivo unveiled this Monday the Vivo X50 series, the first mobile phone to incorporate a gimbal in its main camera, a system used in professional photography to stabilize the image.

The high-end series Vivo X50 becomes the flagship of the Chinese brand and consists of three models: one standard, X50 Pro and X50 Pro +, of which the last two use the gimbal in their quad cameras, as reported by Vivo in a statement.

Vivo’s mobile makes use of a gimbal modeled according to professional full-size systems, which is located in the main 50MP camera in the X50 Pro + and 48MP in the Pro model and which consists of a module that moves in the direction opposite of movements like tremors.

This sensor is located in a quad rear camera setup on all models in the series complete with an 8MP telephoto lens, also an 8MP ultra wide angle and a 13MP depth sensor. The camera can zoom up to 60x through the periscope lens.

The internal features of the most powerful model, X50 Pro +, are completed by Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor, Snapdragon 865, the Snapdragon X55 modem with support for 5G, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
