Venezuela announces electric rationing

Nicolás Maduro announced a rationing plan for a period of 30 days in national chain without further details on the agenda of its application

Nicolás Maduro announced on Sunday, March 31, in a national media speech, the implementation of an electric rationing plan until the service supply in Venezuela is fully recovered.

Although he did not give details of how the electricity administration plan will be applied he cleared that it will last 30 days in all the states of the Caribbean nation while the company Corpoelec continues to work in the facilities allegedly attacked.

“I have approved a 30-day plan for a load management regime to balance the generation process, the secure transmission processes and the service and consumption processes throughout the country, with an emphasis on guaranteeing the service of water,” Maduro said.

During his short speech, the Venezuelan president also announced that academic activities continue to be suspended at all levels, probably until next Wednesday.

Regarding work activities, the announcement indicated that a special journey will be implemented until 2:00 p.m. while they achieve the recovery of the electricity supply.
